Medellín, May 2025. With pride and commitment, LifeFactors celebrates having been selected as one of the eight winners of the Latam Health Champions 2025, an outstanding initiative that recognizes the most innovative healthcare solutions in Latin America. This distinction not only ratifies our purpose as a biopharmaceutical company specialized in plasma derivatives, but also opens the doors for us to represent the region in a high-impact international mission in Boston, USA, on May 6 and 7.
An innovation ecosystem that inspires
During Mission Boston, the eight winning projects will experience a deep immersion in one of the most robust and recognized health innovation ecosystems in the world. The agenda includes visits to global reference centers such as MIT, Harvard, Lab Central, Mass General Brigham, Portal Innovations, AWS, Amgen and the Broad Institute. This tour has two main objectives: to inspire Latin American innovators and to connect talent, ideas and opportunities to scale our solutions globally.
As Yaneth Giha Tovar, executive director of FIFARMA and one of the promoters of the contest together with INNOS (Institute for Prospective and Innovation in Health), said:
“We want innovators to see the power of what they are doing, understand the power of the ecosystem and work collaboratively so that we can all grow.”

Recognition for ideas with purpose
Latam Health Champions received 178 applications from 11 countries, of which 32 were selected as finalists. Among the winners, LifeFactors shares this achievement with initiatives from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru, which, like us, are demonstrating that in Latin America there is talent, knowledge and will to transform healthcare with real, sustainable and scalable solutions.
This call also highlights the importance of intellectual property as a key axis to protect ideas and turn them into products with social and health impact. As Giha mentioned at the award ceremony:
“Intellectual property drives innovation, attracts investment and allows us to improve people's lives with therapies aligned to our needs.”

Advancing with purpose
For LifeFactors, this recognition reaffirms our commitment to science that transforms, and drives us to continue innovating plasma-derived therapies that respond to the most urgent health challenges in the region. We thank FIFARMA and INNOS for making visible the efforts of those who, like us, are committed to doing things right from the beginning: with purpose, equity and social impact.
We will continue working for a purposeful, collaborative and sustainable health, Boston is just the beginning!
